Umoe Schat-Harding is to appoint a new CEO to replace Ove Roessland, who has announced his resignation to the board on Tuesday 9th February, 2010.
Until the new appointment is made, Jarle Roth, chairman of the board, will stand in as CEO. The change will not affect day to day operation of Schat-Harding.
Ove Roessland has worked for the Umoe Group for twenty years, and during that time has worked in many positions at Schat-Harding. For the last eight years he has been CEO, and during that time he has led the company to become a major international force in improving safety at sea. Under his leadership Schat-Harding has doubled in size and dramatically grown its global service network and international manufacturing base.
Roessland says, “It has been a stimulating and challenging task to lead Schat-Harding, growing the company and its range of products and services to meet the needs of a demanding marketplace. Now the company faces changing markets and I feel it is time for a new manager to take the company forward. It is also time for me to seek out different challenges. I want to thank the board for all their support, and thank all our staff for the commitment they have shown to Schat-Harding and safety at sea while I have been CEO.”
Jarle Roth, chairman of the board, says, “Ove has given a lot to our group, and we thank him for building Schat-Harding into the force it is today. His decision to step aside to allow us to put in place a new CEO who can take the company forward in the changed marketplace we now face is typical of his courage and good timing. The board and I wish him well.”
